Help Coco

On Sunday, June 6th, Coco was riding in the back of her owner’s son’s truck in central Fresno and she somehow jumped out while the truck was in motion. Unfortunately, the owner’s son did not notice this and therefore we do not know how long she was dragged. Someone finally flagged him and he stopped immediately. He was clearly traumatized by what he witnessed. Coco had lost most of her skin on her legs, exposing a vast amount of bone and a large part of her belly lost its skin.

Coco was being driven by the owner’s son to take her to his home to catch a mouse because she is very good at it and quite enjoys it. She is a very sweet girl and remains in amazing spirits despite her tragic accident.

The family, clearly, feels horrible as this was an unforeseen tragic accident and they have done all they can to get Coco back to health. To date, they have exhausted $7k and she is in need of further care. She will need daily bandage changing for the next 6-8 weeks, that we can tell. It is unknown if she will lose a limb at this time.

We want to be supportive of this family as they are tormented by what occurred and feel awful about this. They have exhausted all their financial efforts, so at this time, we are asking the community to aid in Coco’s effort. We do not know the extent of her injuries as this will depend on how well she heals. For the other injuries she sustained, losing lots of her skin, we are anticipating approximately 4-6k.
