Dylan's Top Surgery Fund!

My name is Dylan (he/they). I’m an 18-year-old transmasc looking for help funding my top surgery! After months of battling insurance and advocating for myself, I finally got my surgery scheduled for October 9th of this year!

I’ve identified as transmasc for a large part of my life, the past 6 years or so. Growing into and with my identity and exploring gender expression has made me find pride and comfort in myself. The only downside of this growth has been experiencing severe dysphoria. Top surgery has been the one thing I’ve looked to for hope through the struggle. It is the one thing that will help me see the man that I am reflected back at me.

This journey has been rough. I’ve saved and saved as much as I can, but the reality is my financial situation is not the best. I’m working part-time and right now a lot of that money has to go towards things for college. On top of that, until a few months ago, I was living with an unsupportive and neglectful family. I was buying all my own groceries and getting an Uber to and from school almost daily. All my money was going towards survival, and what little I could save went towards funding for this. Luckily, I have gained found family on my journey through life and found community in the people around me.

Now I ask the community at large for support. I’ve found that the beauty of the trans experience has been the community we’ve built from the ground up, regardless of social constraints and public outcry.
