Help Julia Beat Cancer!

Hello family and friends,

Life has a funny way of throwing challenges your way and I can say that I’ve met all of mine head-on. Sometimes challenges show up as a funny annoying bump under your armpit. Not paying too much attention to it and following weeks of doctors’ visits, blood samples and testing, it was recommended I get a biopsy and a PET scan completed because of it’s
“suspicious” nature. Following my tests, I went for my follow-up to my doctor’s office on June 6th and was told that funny annoying bump was really cancer in the form of Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. This cancer affects the lymphatic system, which is part of the body’s immune system and helps us fight off disease processes.

I was numb to the thought of what that diagnosis meant for me and that this challenge was unlike any I have ever encountered. When I was younger, I thought the worst challenges I would face came by way of a basketball rivalry, relationships, or the surprise chemistry test. Those challenges seem all too trivial now when you are dealing with a life-or-death situation. You can imagine that I had may questions. Will this affect my job performance? Will my job be understanding? How much will my partner and family suffer because of me? How much is this going to cost me? Should I keep it to myself, so no one has to worry about me? It goes without saying that I try to handle any situation by myself first as I always have but know that this is something I cannot face alone.

The battle ahead will be a tough one and I am told the treatment is unpleasant and will affect my mind, body, and soul. The treatment plan may last for 6 months with follow-up tests, and I am asking for your prayers and support as I begin this process. For those that know me know this is not something that comes easy for me to ask but your donations will help immensely towards meeting treatment costs, daily life, and bill obligations. I have Stage 2 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and by the grace of God, and the love of my family and friends I will
meet this challenge head-on.

On another note, my name is Jordan Plaza and I am Julia's girlfriend of nine years. Filled with beautiful and amazing memories with her we plan to tackle this next step of our lives as quickly as possible and make sure Julia stays happy and healthy. We plan to use this money for current and future medical bills that can come our way. We will also use this money for life unforeseen circumstances that can come out of nowhere that we are not prepared for. We are grateful for every penny we have received and the love that comes with it. Thank you all for every prayer donation and love she has received over these past couple of weeks. Let's keep fighting!
