5-YEAR- OLD BOY TRAGICALLY KILLED

Friends, family, and wider community, I reach out today in a desperate plea!

No parent ever expects to lose a child, and to lose a child so tragically is even more painful.

My friend’s young son, Kenai, was fatally struck by a truck on September 15th, 2021 outside his sitter’s home in Northeast Philadelphia. No fault of the driver. Kenai was rushed by ambulance to St. Christopher’s Hospital where he died one hour later.

The mom, Karina, a single mom, is employed as a house cleaner. Karina only gets paid when she works. Sadly, the father of Kenai provides no financial support for his children. Karina has full custody of Kenai and Kenai’s 12-year-old sister.

Karina is a dear friend and over our 15-year friendship, I have always admired her incredible work ethic to support her children. Her children, as with all of us, are the heart and soul of her life. Karina is beyond consolable.

I am asking for your financial support to cover the funeral and medical expenses and help supplement Karina’s loss of income during this most difficult time. Karina and her daughter desperately need your support while they heal, to not worry about getting back to work immediately, so that their bills and rent can get paid.
