Help send the UConn Ski Team to Nationals!

The UConn Ski team has once again had a fantastic season of racing in the highly competitive MacConnell Division. Our 2023 season results landed the men and women’s team in 4th overall which advanced us to the USCSA Regional Championships. Our regular season spanned over the Northeast with races at Whiteface, Pats Peak, West Mountain, Proctor, and more. Individually, we had three athletes earn the all MacConnell Division Team distinction. Huge congrats to Abby Horning, Lydia Kelleher, and Matt Chambers for achieving this honor for another season!

This past weekend at Sugarloaf Mountain in Maine, we had more outstanding results with our ladies team placing 5th overall and our men's team finishing in 4th overall for the weekend! We had multiple top 15 finishes including two top 10 finishes. Preston Bolus finished 8th place in the GS and Matt Chambers finished 7th in the slalom.

As a result of our Regionals performance, we are excited to announce we have qualified to compete at USCSA Nationals at Mammoth Mountain in California, March 5th through 11th!

To compete at Nationals, each athlete is required to pay $540 individually on top of the expenses of food, lodging, and travel. UConn has provided some support to us for nationals, but it will not cover the costs of our event. This year having to travel all the way to California means there will be additional costs we have to cover such as flights, rental vans, etc.

Our friends, family, and alumni have been very generous to us and we are so grateful for your past support; we are hoping that you will once again consider donating to our GoFundMe to help offset our out-of-pocket expenses needed to compete this year at Nationals.
