6 year old Dale “Trey” Barber

Hello Everyone, My name is Deanna Washington. I appreciate you taking a moment to read. Our dear friends Dale and Melanie Barber suffered the unimaginable in recent weeks. Their oldest son Dale “Trey” Barber passed away on January 4th after battling a severe illness during the Christmas and New Year Holiday.

In just 6 short years, my beautiful Godson Trey made a huge impact on every life he touched. Energetic, smart, fun loving, charismatic, talkative and caring are just a few ways to describe Trey. A little boy with such high energy, Trey broke into a dance every chance he got with his mother Melanie hyping and cheering him on along the way. He loved playing sports, practicing with his dad, Dale, being active and having fun with his teammates, classmates and friends. He had a special bond and was truly cherished by his Godfather, Nick. Trey held a special place in the hearts of all his teachers, school staff, coaches, parents of friends and all who knew him. This little boy made a friend everywhere he went! His grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins are missing their beautiful boy. Trey reunites with his great grandmother “Grams,” who passed away just a few days before him. Trey so loved his parents and adored his baby brother, Cameron. He was the best big brother anyone could ask for. Please continue to pray for them, as they learn to navigate life without their pride and joy. Thank you all for reaching out, for all your prayer, warm thoughts and wishes.
