600 Miles for SF-Marin Foodbank

Eating healthy food is a value that has been instilled in me from a young age. My mom was a chef and loves to cook. She always teaches my brother and I about the importance of eating well. Since I began running in high school, I’ve seen how much eating well can help you. Having a balanced diet makes you feel better and gives me the energy I need to run faster. Because I grew up eating nutritious food, having access to it felt so commonplace. I thought everyone had access. However, since I began volunteering with my Grandma at the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank, I realized just how many people struggle with this problem.
Over 800,000 people in the Bay Area alone struggle with food insecurity. That is a staggering number and is a problem that has spiraled out of control. No one should have to go hungry and that’s why I created this fundraiser to give everyone the same healthy food that has helped me so much.
The people working at the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank are doing great things for the community and this money will go a long way in their fight against hunger in the Bay Area I'm running 600 miles and raising money to support the San Francisco-Marin foodbank. The SF-Marin foodbank provides over 1,000,000 meals weekly and feeds over 50,000 families. Healthy food is something all people should have access to, and for that reason I'm creating this fundraiser to make good food available.
