Hope for Faith

Dear family and friends of the Nervis family:
For those of you that don't know me, my name is Andrea (better known as Dre) and I've been friends with Andrea since we were 11 and friends with the Nervis family since it started with Mackenzie, they are my family.
This morning I got a gut wrenching call from Andrea who informed me that her 9 year old little girl, Faith, was currently in the hospital with a cancerous tumor about 22cm long. Andrea told me weeks ago about this pain in her stomach but that it never hurt and she hardly felt it, they had it checked a couple times previously and the doctors did not detect the tumor. Her physical showed she was basically in perfect health. Unfortunately this is one of these extremely rare cases and it was not caught until they did a full body CT scan which was done yesterday (6/1/2020) because Faith only now started to feel pain in her side.
With all that being said, Faith will have to undergo emergency surgery this week to have her kidney removed and as much of the tumor removed as possible but it is unlikely they will get it all the first time around. Once the surgery part is over, she will also have to undergo chemotherapy. As Andrea told me more and more, I asked "How much does Faith know about what's going on with her?", Andrea responded, "She know's she has a tumor and she knows she needs surgery but we haven't explained the cancer yet, we don't want to overwhelm her all at once, WE'RE still trying to process it all". Faith is a huge sweetheart who is loving, caring, funny and filled with sass and attitude just like her mom, she's a GREAT kid needless to say. So far she's been optimistic and even made a joke or two about what's going on, but she has a long road ahead of her.
Now if you know Andrea and Robert, you know they have worked themselves to the bone becoming successful in their careers and raising their three amazing kids. Andrea as a Hair Stylist and a Makeup Artist and Bob as Kennel Technician and decoy working with police K-9's (the man can build just about anything too) and raising those three crazy kids, Mackenzie, Cameron and of course Faith. Unfortunately we all know the Coronavirus reared it's very ugly head in around March and the pandemic was declared which stopped Andrea in her tracks from being able to work and unemployment has not been available to independent contractors. Fortunately Robert has been able to work but with his daughter now in the hospital facing this battle, he will be missing a lot of it to be with her. They will both be with her and believe me, Faith will never wake up without one of them, if not both of them by her side. When the surgeries are over, her brother Cameron and sister Mackenzie will be able to visit as well (now that restrictions have loosened slightly). They're both understandably very scared and worried for their sister and just want to be there for her too.
This fundraiser has been established to help ease the burden on Faith's parents, so that the family can focus all their efforts on Faith's treatment, healing and spending precious time together. As they say, every little bit counts. Anyone who knows Andrea and Robert can attest to the fact that they are incredibly giving when it comes to their time, love and energy for anyone in need. As the Nervis family faces the unthinkable and do all they can to help Faith get through this difficult time, if we can help alleviate even some of the day to day financial pressures that will mount during this time of critical care, we too will have done our part to support them in a time of sincere need. Please lift up Faith in your prayers and any given amount that is placed upon your heart is greatly appreciated.
