Bring Armando's Back to Martinez
Donation protected
My name is Roy Jeans and I am the owner of Armando’s in downtown Martinez, CA. Armando’s was a premiere live music venue for over 20 years, featuring some of the Bay Area’s top musical talent. Sadly, the pandemic forced our closure.
But, we are bringing the community together to bring Armando’s back to Martinez.
Armando’s was a truly special place that brought together the best musicians with dedicated fans. We built a club that featured fantastic music in an intimate atmosphere. It was described by many musicians and patrons as “the heart of the community”. With your help, we can bring Armando’s back to Martinez.
We have found a prime location in downtown Martinez for the reopening. The new venue is larger, will feature a stage and serve wine and beer. But, we need funding to redesign and renovate this new location, as well as funding for lighting and sound equipment and new furniture. With your help, we can reopen Armando’s and once again create an intimate club that is “open to music”.
Please donate today to support Roy and his effort to bring back a special place where people can experience the best talent and live music in the Bay Area. And tell your friends about us too.
Comments from musicians who have played at Armando's:
Paul Mehling, has been dubbed the godfather of American gypsy jazz.
There was nothing in my 50 plus years of being a professional
musician that could match Armandos. We all hope it will come back.
Jeff Magidson, known to many as 'half of Duo Gadjo', and renowned for his searing slide guitar work and clever song writing.
In my forty years as a professional musician I have never seen a venue so beloved by fans and musicians alike as Armando's. The place became an institution that put Martinez on the musical map.

I have had the pleasure of playing at Armando's many times and always enjoyed myself immensely. Armando's stage was a welcoming place to play and was a great live recording venue. We always came back to Armando's because it was our home base. Play On!
Chris Cain, Blues guitar master.
I think that Armando's is my favorite place I've ever played. Roy is just a spectacular person, and the people there make you feel so special.

Good old Armando’s in Martinez, what a wonderful venue, a one-of-a-kind music club for sure.
The audiences were very open to the different genres I would bring to the club. The sound system was top-notch. And, Roy, what a fantastic club owner. It would be a very welcome addition to the local club scene if it were to open again.

I am looking forward to having Armando’s back. I have surly missed playing at that wonderful venue. I’ve heard many people asking about it opening again soon. Thank you so much for your efforts in opening Armando’s very soon.

Armando’s was an intimate room that provided an intimate listening experience for the public. It was a revelation for the artists that played there. Roy Jeans built the club and the scene and... made Martinez the music destination it became.

I first met Roy Jeans in 2008 when I brought a band into Armando's to play. The crowd was filled with music lovers that just loved to listen and to groove. We played for over 10 years and it was a huge success. We need a vibe like Armando's back in the loop.
