On Sunday, December 2, 2018, seventeen year old Dekin Walter sustained serious and extreme injuries after surviving a vehicular crash.

Both of his legs are broken, requiring skilled surgeons, who positioned titanium rods in his left leg. Injuries to his face required a plastic surgeon's skills to reconstruct parts of his lips. 

His lungs are bruised, causing his oxygen levels to dip, requiring close monitoring.

Dekin will have an extremely long road to recovery, both physically and mentally as he overcomes his injuries. 

While Dekin has medical insurance and a majority of his medical expenses are covered, there are extreme out of pocket costs.
