On Wednesday, June 22, our friend Primo (46) on Kauai suffered a massive heart attack. Thankfully, he survived and now is on the slow road to recovery. Primo and his wife Amy and their kids Ava and Piper are our dear friends. Primo works for one of the helicopter tour companies on the island. Primo was going about a typical day. He finished yoga, had just surfed, and was stopping by the market on the way home. He collapsed suddenly and didn't receive any type of resuscitative activity until the fire department arrived a few minutes later. The next 72 hours were absolutely frightening as the doctors feared the worst. Primo is physically active, practices yoga, and eats well, so this was such a shock to all of us. Primo is so closely connected with nature, his home, and especially the ocean as you can see in the picture. Just being around him, you feel a calmness. He is one of the last people we would expect to have a heart attack. Primo and Amy are in the service industry as part of the tourism community on Kauai. We all know this industry so well, especially this time of year as we vacation. But what we may not know is how difficult it is to make a living and pay for benefits. This is a vital industry with some of the hardest working people you will ever meet. They help make our vacations safe, fun, and memorable. Without them, there is no tourism industry. Please help our friends in their time of need as the medical bills will be significant. Thank you so much!
