Help Kim Beat Cancer
Donation protected
My name is Brett Kennedy. Most of you know my twin brother, Blake and his wife, Kim. What you might not know is that they lost their oldest son, Peyton on Oct. 31 unexpectedly to genetic heart disease. Peyton was just 26 years old.
As you can imagine it was devastating for all of us and especially for Blake and Kim and their other 3 children Blair, Cole and Hope.
Just weeks after Peyton's passing, Blake started to see signs of Kim that did not seem normal to him. He assumed that it was due to the loss and depression of losing Peyton. She just wasn't acting like herself and she started to have a large mass growing on her right calf. They were concerned about how quickly it was growing and the fact that Kim had a very difficult time walking. After several attempts to do a biopsy, they could not determine exactly what it was. They waited to hear from the doctors as to what to do.
At this point, Kim's state of mind was not very clear and Blake started to see some decline in Kim's speech and thought processes. It was very concerning to Blake, so he took Kim to the emergency room at Tampa General Hospital on Tuesday of last week. After running some tests on Kim they discovered she has a golf-ball size tumor on her brain. They have been running tests to see if the two masses are connected. The doctors were able to do a biopsy on the calf and it came back as cancer. The doctors were going to do a biopsy on the tumor in her brain to see if they are connected in some way. However, after monitoring her brain tumor they determined that it is growing rapidly. The doctors determined the best course of action is to go in and remove the tumor to prevent further growth. Once they get the tumor out, they can look at options to prevent any additional growth. Kim is scheduled for surgery on Monday. I ask that you please keep Kim, Blake and their children in your prays.
With the passing of Peyton and all the medical expenses Blake is incurring and his lost time at work, I know that he is struggling to keep everything moving and trying to stay positive during this time. Being self-employed, Blake's insurance covers some of the cost involved but there is so much more that it doesn't. I would like to take this burden off his plate so that he can just focus on Kim and his family during this time. I know that he would appreciate it very much and be grateful for any donations to help him during this unimaginable time.
I thank you for taking the time to read this and please keep them in your prayers.
Sincerely,
Brett
