The Celebration of life
The Celebration of Life
My name is Danny Quigley and I have always felt the need to celebrate those who have died surrounding Suicide and Mental illness. I feel that many of those who pass away in such a tragedy are forgotten for who they were, what they loved and what type of character they were and instead are over shadowed by their illness or suicide.
That's why I have decided to mark a celebration in the lives of all those who wish to join me on this journey and truly celebrate their loved one in a way which will highlight who they were, what they loved and their very memory of when they were at their highest and happiest.
We plan on an art peice of some sort a remembrance or a sculpture as a token to our celebration to them. This time, I’m going to be once more raising money for the Heath forum, but also for the Foyle Search and Rescue Team.
Although it’s important to raise awareness and caution around mental health,it’s also important to celebrate the lives of people we lost, remembering them before they got sick, remembering the good days.
In line with this, for my next challenge I will be swimming the entire length of the River Foyle, through into Lough Foyle and out into the Atlantic Ocean
In total the Foyle, Loch Foyle and into the Atlantic for me will be roughly 85/90KM providing I don't snake my line through the water. I’m hoping to dedicate each Kilometre of the challenge to someone who’s lost their lives to suicide.
Please get in contact if you want to Celebrate the life of an individual who's lost their lives to suicide.
