Wendy needs help

I have known Wendy basically my entire life, she has been through so much in her life, always helping others even if she was in need herself . She has an amazing sense of humor to make people laugh on social media and in person, she never posts personal things she is going through except when her youngest Joseph had open heart surgery in CHOP, she wanted to make sure his surgery was paid for also to help any other child that may be in need. Now unfortunately it’s Wendy’s turn. She has had Covid three times since May, each one was worse than the one before, this time is the worst for her, she needs to see a neurosurgeon for spinal surgery to relieve inflammation in her spinal cord, it seems within the last few years she has had a trauma to her spine that the Covid virus has now latched on to. What is happening now is that she has limited walking ability, she hasn’t been able to work since May, (a job that she enjoys and misses immensely) she is in chronic pain unable to sit long, stand and laying down is painful as well. The surgery she is facing is brutal with many side effects that potentially can happen. Being a single Mom her focus is on her kids and the “What if” factor of illness and surgery, she wants to make sure they will be ok if something happens. Being under all of this stress isn’t helping her illness at all. Wendy’s greatest passion besides her children is horses, anyone that knows Wendy has seen so many pictures of the horse she adores, Hildago, she hasn’t been able to see him since she first came down with Covid back in April. She misses him so much. That’s her happiness, her entire summer has consisted of being sick, very sick. Wendy wouldn’t ever ask for any help for herself, she has always been the one to help others, whether setting up fund raisers or when Covid first came into our lives making thousands of masks to help keep everyone safe, that’s Wendy. Right now, she needs our help, she doesn’t know when she will be able to return to work, bills are piling up, she was in the hospital six times this summer, some days she felt that she wasn’t going to make it but she is still here with her wit, sense of humor and love for family, friends and animals. The medical bills now alone are staggering. I wish that I could tell you everything that she has endured and still going through, but I can’t. I can tell you this, she keeps going the best that she can to protect her kids and pets and to remain under one roof and together. What Wendy has is called Cauda Equina Syndrome which cannot be treated conservatively. In other words, it cannot be treated with non-invasive techniques such as medication and physiotherapy. Furthermore, it is not possible to see whether the condition 'settles down' and symptoms improve, surgery by a neurosurgeon is the only option and the surgery itself may take many hours. Recovery for this is very long and hard, help me to help Wendy and her family please. Thank you for my friend.
