Save Street Dogs through Sterilization!
Donation protected
One surgery saves 660 lives, within just a year! (and that number becomes exponentially bigger with every generation). In India, only 19% of puppies reach adulthood, the rest all come under cars, die from diseases, or become victims of cruelty. Sterilization of female dogs and vaccination of the whole population prevents that suffering...and the suffering of human residents affected by a stressed and crowded dog population.
Only one in 5 puppies reach adulthood (9 months old).
That's why I am starting a non-profit called 660 Lives!
My name is Jo, and I've worked to rescue stray animals in India for the last 9 years. I had to briefly return to the US, but now I'm ready to get back to work focused exclusively on sterilization and vaccination of stray dogs. We will be starting in Udaipur, Rajasthan, and will create a replicable model of population control which can be expanded to other cities across the country.
How will we know it's working? I'm glad you asked! We intend to conduct surveys (counting dogs and asking residents about the impact on their lives) both before and after our program in each neighborhood.
But starting a program like this costs money! I have already invested much of my own savings, but I need your help to:
1) Pay for the startup costs for incorporating 660 Lives non-profit
2) Pay for travel to India
3) Conduct our initial studies for target neighborhoods.
With the startup costs covered, we can hit the ground running and save more funds for life-saving surgeries!
