Egna Legna/ እኛ ለኛ

We write to request your support of our organization Egna Legna. We started and funded this project for a long time from our own pockets, but now, since we have more students participating in the program and plan to support all the expenses of their school supplies once a year, we decided to get help from our community so that we can continue to help those children pursue their education.  Right now, we have thirty-four students from the 2nd grade to the university level. Some of those students lost their parents in a car accident and because of diseases. Some of them grew up in poverty with a single mother. Many of these students would not be able to attend school due to lack of funds. We are helping them to purchase their school materials which include a uniform, books, a pen, a pencil, and a backpack. These items will help them to continue their education. Our main goal is to help the students attend their school by purchasing school supplies.  We want to do as much as we can to help these students succeed in school and gain a better life for themselves. We also provide services for thirty-three elderly people who don't have any other support or close family members. These people are unable to work and need the extra support offered by our organization. We provide money for food and necessities for these individuals once a year. Last year we collected $2,485 and we were able to give 46 elderly mom 1,000 Ethiopian birr for each for Ethiopian new year and for 45 kids we provide uniform, books, pens, pencil, note book and a backpack. Now we are asking you to help us anything that you can to help those kids to continue their education and to support our elderly moms. We know that money can be tight, so please know that even $5 helps them get closer to their goal.  We really appreciate your support.
