Support Recovery After Traumatic Brain Injury

Hey everyone. As you all know, the past few years have been filled with happiness and adventures on my skates. Sadly, I had an accident on December 3rd and spent almost a week in the intensive care unit at the hospital due to hemorrhages in my brain. This was the most terrifying, traumatic experience and the most pain I have ever been in my life.

It will be a slow recovery, and I will be out of work for at least two months. I am on medication to prevent seizures and not able to drive or lift anything for a while. This will be extremely difficult for me and my family. The stress of this and also medical costs makes it difficult to rest and recover as I need to. My family and I are working to make necessary adjustments, but I also need care and help at home to keep me safe.

If you can help at all during this time, I would appreciate it so, so much, because the stress of this all will definitely prolong my recovery. I will be missing skating and all of my friends so much and was looking forward to all the upcoming holiday events. I can’t wait to be able to get back to life, taking care of little nanny babes at work who I will miss so much.
