My dad... John Schwerk

My name is Jess & I wanted to set this up for my dad & Stepmom. My dad collapsed Christmas Day at home in excruciating pain. He ended up at Buffalo General with acute pancreatitis, which has affected his entire body.

I spared you from the photo I have of him in the hospital. It is so sad to see your parent in that condition, looking so helpless.

He has been sedated, varying levels for a month. He had 14 IV bags at one point, down to 7 as of yesterday. He is on a ventilator to give him some extra help breathing. There is no saying how long he will be there, but he has a very long road ahead of him. There is so much more medically going on, but I don't want to share all the details...

My dad has battled many demons in his lifetime, but he was always a great provider & tried his best. He is a stubborn man & when he wakes up, he's going to be pissed off. Haha! No joke. But despite his inner struggles, he's my dad & I pray for him everyday & I love him very much.

We all know insurance doesn't pay everything, and they are retired with a limited income. It came across my heart to set this up...
