Farmer Suzie and the Cows Need Your Help!
Suzie became a farmer 15 years ago to provide for her children, Zale and Saxon. She wanted to give them the most nourishing foods and the most wholesome lifestyle. The kids thrived on the farm and their zest for life inspired Suzie to share their extraordinary world with the community. Suzie's nonprofit Nourishing Food for Thought was born. This amazing farm is their gift to the community.
Many factors make this farm special. Suzie’s way of farming is unique in South Florida. She is part of a growing movement to bring farming back to basics by implementing ethical farming practices, which produce a better and healthier product, while at the same time improving the environment.
While her programs kept children at the center, Suzie extended her educational services and products to everyone in the community, including other farmers, special needs groups, and schools.
In the spring of 2021 the farm closed its doors, and its future was uncertain. The Jupiter community rallied and helped Suzie through this unimaginable time - the tragic loss of her two children (which you can read about below). Volunteers helped with her cows at the farm, tending to them and helping take care of them. Friends adopted her chickens and other animals. Neighbors helped relocate her community garden, and everyone gave her unconditional love and support. It was evident that everyone recognized the value of Suzie’s mission. She is now ready to bring back the farm in honor of Zale and Saxon, and she needs help!
In order to continue her mission, she needs money to cover the cost of land to relocate nearby to buy or lease. Suzie’s goal is to honor the legacy of her children and provide the community with the special magic that comes with nutritional food, farming and being connected to the land. We are now trying to raise 1 million so Suzie can continue her farming education in Jupiter
This GoFundMe is created by her family to support Suzie Dudas as she navigates this unimaginable tragedy.
Zale and Saxon, Suzie's children, died Tuesday April 27th after a drowning incident that occurred at a friend's home on the previous Friday. The children were not in Suzie's care at that time. Zale was 9 and Saxon was 7. They were Suzie's only children.
The next steps forward are critical as Suzie attempts to heal and recover. In the short term, she needs a safe place to live in addition to money for funeral expenses and medical bills. Suzie and the children's father are estranged, and were long before this horrific incident.
The money raised from this page will be held in the name of her three siblings, Charlie, Mike and Carrie, for Suzie’s exclusive benefit.
Zale was 9 years old. She loved dragons, her friends, swimming, and her mother. She was a great big sister and an affectionate and loving child.
Saxon was 7 years old. Wild and free, he often tinkered and explored, eternally curious about the world around him. He loved the outdoors, superheroes, and hated pants.
Suzie Dudas is a pillar in her community. The founder of Nourishing Food for Thought at Jupiter Creamery, her passion for farming blesses the community of Jupiter and beyond. Like her son, Suzie is curious and active. Like her daughter, she is loving and kind. We hope and pray for a future for her, beyond this devastation. We hope for freedom and healing -- and peace.
Hard to fathom, the world keeps turning after the death of these two souls. Because of this, we her family are here to help pave the way forward, whatever that will look like. Thank you for your support, your prayers, and your love.
We understand that some may not feel comfortable giving through this site. There is also a donation button on the Jupiter Creamery page that would go to defray the cost of caring for Suzie's beloved farm animals.
We would also like to express our thanks and gratitude to the entire staff of St. Mary’s Hospital in West Palm Beach, in particular the staff of the PICU there. In lieu of donations here or to Jupiter Creamery, we encourage people to consider donating to this hospital in Zale and Saxon's name.
