Kelly’s Surgery Cost to Kick Breast Cancers butt

This has been a long journey for Kelly, Marcus, Kacee, Megan, and their entire family. I’d like to personally thank each and every single person that has helped this sweet family get to this point. They couldn’t have made it this far without the prayers, love, food, messages, gifts, and overwhelming words of hope and encouragement! The moment we’ve been waiting for since her breast cancer diagnosis is quickly approaching: SURGERY DAY!

Kelly will undergo surgery to have a double mastectomy on February 7th, 2024 in Albany, GA. The plan is to also have her reconstructive surgery at the same time. While she is in surgery, she will also have a sentinel lymph node biopsy, which looks for cancer cells in the lymph near the tumor.

Kelly has been out of work since her diagnosis and is able to get short term disability benefits through her insurance, but that pretty much allows her to pay her monthly premium for her health insurance. Kelly’s portion that she is responsible for paying *for surgery alone* is approximately $1500. This does not include costs for the surgeons (she will have 2 surgeons working on her at the same time) nor does it cover radiology scans, medications, overnight hospital stay, or any other unexpected costs that may arise. These fees have to be paid when she checks in for surgery. I felt like a gofundme would be the easiest and fastest way to raise the funds necessary to help our warrior, and it’s easier for me to ask for forgiveness than permission!
