Marissa Burke Funeral Expenses

STATEMENT FROM THE FAMILY:

As many of you already know on 11/13/2023. A 17 year old senior was walking home from the Deer Park high school south campus. And was struck by a drunk driver off Georgia and Wildwood, The driver lost control of his vehicle and went into the oncoming lane of traffic. He ran up the curb and on to the sidewalk. Pinning her underneath his truck and against a pole. She was then taken by life flight to Memorial Hermann in the Medical center to be treated for her injuries. On 11/17/2023 with family members gathered by her side, the decision was made by her family for Marissa to be taken off life support and was finally set free to end all her suffering and to be released to our lord in heaven.

Marissa was a beautiful young lady with a wonderful sense of humor, was always full of life and love for her friends and family, she was very mature and intelligent for her age often times seeing the world with adult eyes, She had a very bright future ahead of her and she was a very kind and gentle soul, who would do anything for anyone when ever needed. She was also a private person who never liked feeling like she was being watched or put on display.

I do love all the continuing show of prayers, love and support that everyone in our community has shown us and please continue with them. It gives us faith during this tragic time But I do ask for everyone to please refrain from reaching out to Marissa’s sister. For she was witness to this terrible tragedy. And would like to retain her privacy at this time. And Marissa’s mom whom was able to be discharged from the hospital for cancer treatment complications to see her daughter one last time has since been re-admitted into the hospital.

As a life long resident of this beautiful community, I would like to think each and every one of you for your outpouring of love, prayers and support.
