Help the Homeless Limerick & Cliona’s foundation

We have decided to bite the bullet and sign up for the Virtual Great Limerick Run Full Marathon on the May bank holiday. Neither of us have ever done anything like this so it should be interesting, At the same time We want to raise a bit of money for some charities close to home so we have decided to split the funds we raise between Help the Homeless Limerick and Cliona’s foundation.
Over the lockdown I have noticed the work of the “Help the Homeless Limerick” group. After the lockdown hit last March two volunteers took to the streets to help their homeless friends, this group now consists of 6 volunteers who every night on Gerald Griffin street provide the homeless of Limerick with hot meals, warm clothes and toiletries whilst also supporting local hostels.
You can see the incredible work done by the group on their facebook group:

Cliona’s foundation who have their offices in Limerick directly provide parents of children with life limiting or chronic complex care needs with financial assistance to help with anything from rent and utility bills to treating a sibling with a day out . With people facing unemployment both temporary and permanent during the lockdown this charity needs the public’s support.
Please give what you can and spread the word.
