Paul Family Memorial Fundraiser

Donation protected

It is with a heavy heart that I am reaching out on behalf of my Daughter and Granddaughter after the loss of my Son-in-Law; Thanooe Paul. He passed away from Small Cell lung cancer, on Saturday November 12, 2022 at the young age of 34. It was determined he acquired this cancer due to exposure from burn pits, during his active service between 2007-2008. #pactact

Thanooe was in the Army for 9 years, he went on two tours – to Iraq and Kuwait and a partial to Afghanistan. He was also a Cannon Crew member for one of those years. Medals as follows: Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global war on Terrorism Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal w/Campaign star, Non-Commissioned officer Professional, Army Service Ribbon, 2nd Award – Overseas Service Ribbon, Armed Forces Reserve Medal. Thanooe loved his country. He was a true Patriot.

He had a three + year fight with this cancer where he went through around 8 treatments of Chemo, a half a dozen sessions of radiation, Immunotherapy and a Mass General trial. All these things were to fight this cancer to give him more quality time with his family. Everyone never gave up hope until it finally took over. His Army friends nick named him “Battle”, and he truly did try so hard to fight this fight with all he could.

During the last three years of this life he spent it as much as possible building memories with his family and extended family. This was so important to him. He even started recording science experiments with his daughter on YouTube, so she could look back on those times and remember him. They bought a home, adopted the family dog and participated in many of the town events. They have been active in sports, scouts and dance with their daughter. They tried so hard to have normalcy in between everything.

His love for his sisters was also incredibly strong. This loss has devastated the entire family. He was so proud of all of them too. Even across the miles he kept a tight connection with all of them. This family will keep his memory alive.

He was a devoted Husband, Father, Son, Son-in law, Brother, Brother in-law, Uncle and Friend.

This is to honor him by helping with funeral costs, and bills until Amanda can go back to work. She has been his primary caregiver during his treatments. If anyone would like to do something different for the family to help them, any support will be greatly appreciated. Reach out to family directly if you would like to donate or do something different.
