Anyone that knows me, should know how difficult it is for me to even write this. As you know back in March we found out I had stage 3 rectal cancer. I have been testing and being doing chemo treatments since. My last chemo treatment will be on September 28th, my first surgery is scheduled for late October or early November, depending on future test results. On my birthday (September 15th) I was with my brother in the Brooke Army Medical Center burn ICU when he went to be with the Lord. Two hours later I received the email that I was being released from my job as I have run out of short term disability. I am now transitioning to long term disability. Yesterday I was notified that although I can keep my health insurance through COBRA, I will lose my life insurance as it is tied to my employment. Now that I have been diagnosed with cancer finding life insurance will be next to impossible. What most don't know is I haven't been home with wife and son since early April. My cancer treatments are in Houston 9 hours away. I have done all I could to maintain both households, from making and selling items to selling off my own personal guns. I have borrowed money from friends and family as well as downsized my life and sold off personal items. As a proud man it is extremely difficult to put this in print for the world to see. I do not want charity, but I am in desperate need of compassion. If you can find it in you heart to help in any way, my family and I would be eternally grateful. Thank you and GOD Bless everyone.
