Ukrainian Refugee Convoy

I’m taking part in an initiative of Tom McAneaney to get drivers to drive to central Europe to collect Ukrainian refugees and bring them to Ireland.

 

Following the first two successful Tesla Convoy missions to bring Ukrainian refugees to Ireland, I plan to join the 3rd mission. The organisers are arranging a group of 15 cars (mine being one) to travel out on June 13th. The destination to pick up our family is Frankfurt, Germany. Our guests will make their way to Frankfurt by train and bus, where we will meet them and bring them back to Ireland. This mission will bring back approximately 60 people to the safety of Ireland.

It will also be my first time driving my car on the continent, but I am delighted to be taking part in supporting this initiative.

 

I am fundraising to cover the expenses of the Ukrainian refugees I will transport to Ireland as part of this organised trip by the Tesla Owners Club Ireland. The funds will only cover my guests' travel expenses; hotels, food, and ancillary expenses.

Many of the refugees cannot fly for one reason or another, e.g. medical reasons, pregnancy, or having their family pet in tow. So it seems the convoy missions have found a necessary niche.

 

Each driver covers their own expenses for their car (electricity charging costs, ferry passage and Euro Tunnel transfer) and themselves (overnight lodging).

No money raised will be used for my expenses.
