Send Molly to Study in New York!

Traveling the world in order to broaden my horizons, make new friends, gain knowledge, and experience new things has always been a dream of mine. Last summer, I left the country for the first time in my life. I traveled to Ballyvaughan, Ireland where I had the best summer of my entire life. I learned so many things about myself and who I wanted to become. I studied art there, creating works I could only dream of. Getting to experience a piece of my heritage first hand was incredible, and it is an experience I will never forget. There is so much that I want to accomplish in life. I am currently studying art and psychology at Louisiana State University, and one day hope to combine the two in order to help people, psychologically, through the use of art. This summer, I would like to challenge myself in a new setting: New York City. While Ballyvaughan is now my favorite place on earth, I was in a very rural setting. I got to know the entire town and had a great sense of self. Whereas in New York, I will be surrounded by people who I suspect I will have a harder time connecting with. By challenging myself in this way, I hope I will someday be able to better connect with people around me and people who I will potentially help.
By earning only a portion of the funding for my trip through the generosity of friends, family, and even complete strangers, my trip to the Big Apple will not only help me achieve my travel goal, but also allow me to save more money to put toward graduate school. In New York, I will study the creative process of studio artists, visit museums and galleries, and have the chance to go behind the scenes of the curatorial processes of some major museums. This is truly the chance of a lifetime.
I fully understand the bounty of which I am asking, and understand that some people who would love to support simply cannot. So I ask those of you who cannot donate financially to send their positive comments and thoughts my way as I continue to follow my dreams. Thank you so much for your time!
