Walk to Defeat ALS

ALS, Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis, is a rare nervous system disease that weakens muscles and impacts physical function. It is a terminal illness that can only be helped and subdued rather than cured. The ALS Association is where your donations would be going. The Association supports research to help find a cure for the disease as well as provide the much-needed services and equipment to the families affected by it. They hold walks all around the country that anyone can participate in- "The Walk to Defeat ALS". 

This disease affected my father and took his life after fighting it for 13 years, which is amazing because the lifespan is only 2-5 years after diagnosis. My family was fortunate to have this Association to help get what we needed and what he deserved. Because of this, my team- the UMBC Women's Soccer  and who ever else is willing to help- will be raising money and donating the proceeds to the Association before the walk held in Washington, D.C. on October 13. Please help us reach our goal in memory of not only my father but everyone else who is or has suffered from this disease.
