Love in action for Richard Ramos

Hi, my name is Richard Ramos and I have been a truck driver for over 30 years. I work with passion
and dedication and I have great respect for all of my employers, and co-workers past and present.
Driving is what I do best and the only thing that I know how to do to earn an income for my family.
I was recently diagnosed with Clear Renal Cell Carcinoma. It is a stage 4 aggressive cancer that I
intend to fight the only way I know how and that is with faith and courage knowing that anything is
possible if WE BELIEVE.
My wife is my rock and her three children and their families are my extended family. Between them and all of my co-workers as well as neighbors and friends, we have been overwhelmed with kindness.
Now a little about my prognosis and current treatments. This is a cancer that originated in my kidney and traveled to the lungs and areas of the spine and pleura. As with any illness, it takes time to correctly diagnose and form a treatment plan. I am now in the hands of an oncologist by the name of Dr. Evan T. Hall at Fred Hutch Cancer Center in Seattle. I started "targeted therapy" on July 22nd. This is an oral pill called "Lenvima" that is taken once daily. I will start Immunotherapy infusions on August 7th and they will be every 21 days in Seattle (an hour and a half away).
It would make a world of difference to be able to stay at home and not have our whole life uplifted.
About finances, all I can say is we are simple people with simple needs that have now become a bit of a big mountain to climb. My wife is now my full-time caregiver as well as a homemaker and our only income will soon be coming from Family Medical Leave which has been approved for three months.
Thank you in advance and may God bless all of us.
