Khairi's Chance to Dance at Ailey

Khairi is a young beautiful, inquisitive, and talented 7th grader from ATL, GA who loves nothing more than dancing. Dancing is her passion, her love, and her essence. We are so proud of her. Khairi has done all the right things as a daughter, big sister, student, and dancer that any mother could ask for.
Khairi has always defied the odds from the moment she was born. She has dedicated her life at such an early age to excellence, to entertaining the world with her gift of dance - tap, ballet, and jazz. Khairi is an honor student at Colonial Hills Christian School and a scholar-athlete. Khairi has been an honor roll student since first grade. She is eldest of three and her brothers are just as competitive. She has very high expectations for herself, academically and in anything she sets her mind to do. She believes in always doing her best and putting her best foot forward, putting forth an effort.
Khairi is a company member of ETD Dance Studio in Mableton, GA where she also mentors younger dancers and serves as a role model. She defines discipline, hard work, dedication, and achievement without looking for any short cuts. Khairi loves dancing as it is an art form. It allows her to relieve stress, to get everything out in just one dance, to express herself. Khairi loves dancing and believes her talents are blessings disguised as gifts.
Recently Khairi auditioned for the Alvin Ailey Summer Intensive Program and was selected to participate in the 5-week program NYC. Imagine the smile on her face as she read her notification of selection. She was so happy and excited. Khairi has worked extremely hard for this opportunity, and she believes this experience will be an exciting challenge.
NYC is a big place, but Khairi believes if she can make it in NYC where the best of the best are exposed to the Masters in her art then she can make it anywhere. Learning, competing, and dancing in NYC is a dream of Khairi. She will be exposed to some of the world’s best professional dance teachers.
Khairi ensures that she completes all the morning rituals of studying for school, being a big sister, and practicing and sacrificing to be the best.
I am asking for your help in helping me get Khairi to NYC so she can participate in the 5 week Alvin Ailey Summer Intensive program - assistance for tuition and her summer housing costs. She has always dreamed of "being an Ailey Dancer". She was always excited to see them perform when the Company would come to Atlanta.
Khairi dreams of becoming a dancer every day. I have all the confidence in the world and the generosity of others that she will get there to continue to “Change The World, One Dance At A Time”.
