Help A Young Widow And Daughter

Doug Rutherford was a great man, who was very strong. So many people looked up to him and respected him. He was a leader with a heart of gold. If you needed help he was the one to call. He was my hero, my role model, and such a wonderful dad. My mom and Dad have always been together. When they were kids they went to the same ice cream shop, even played at the same park. It wasn't until my mom had sat in front of him in high school for them to finally meet. Not too long after that, they had me. Being young parents, life was hard for them but that never stopped them from being great, wonderful and loving parents. My dad, Doug Rutherford was like a mountain. Proud, tall, strong and always there. Though he was a man of few words, looked intimidating and didn't take anything from anyone. He was mine and my mom's rock. Whenever things got tough, my dad could handle it in a way that could only be described as magic. He was like the un-stoppable man, nothing could stop him. He was only 37 and was trying to get his business off the ground. One moment, he's fine, the next he's gone. The night we found out he had passed, I had to admit my mom to the hospital. She's still not doing good but she's home. Mom and I didn't have much money before all this. Which is another reason why this is so devastating. Back in 2017, we had lost his dad to cancer and the bills were hard to pay even though the V.A. helped out a lot. My dad did not serve which means we won't have a wonderful organization like the V.A. to help us. All of the funds will go to the funeral and the hospital bills. My mom a couple years ago had convenience my dad into doing a couples grave. She wanted to grow old with him and when the time came she wanted them to be together. Our goal is to reach $5,000. I do not know exactly how much everything will cost, I just thought $5,000 would get us close. Anything will help, if we meet the goal, if we go over or don't meet the goal. Every little bit of it counts. We would like to reach this goal as soon as possible, this way we won't have to stress over money during this sad time. I'm hoping to raise enough money to help my mom out. She will be the one dealing with the bills. She is so devastated it's hard for her to process everything that's going on. Which is why I have been helping out so much. If I could give her one less thing to stress out about. It would make me happy. When things had gotten tough for me, my dad would always say, "We're Rutherfords and Rutherfords are strong and stubborn. "
