I am starting this page for my Uncle. My mother's last living relative. Just over a month ago Uncle Gary found out he had terminal Cancer. It is Stage 4 and all through his body. This is devestating news to us all, but especially my mom as she has had to help her mom and oldest brother cross over as a result of this horrific disease. She has now come to Uncle Gary's bedside to be with him, advocate for him and make sure what days he has left are as comfortable as possible.
Gary is a member of the Screen Actors Guild and has spent his entire life acting in movies, on stage, doing voice overs, playing guitar and singing, working the car shows and basically doing what he's always felt was his calling, entertaining. He is also a Master Puppeteer and every child in our family, since I was a child has been lucky enough to see "D Duck" at every family get together.
Unfortunately, as it goes with this industry, he has often been without work and has never really had insurance. We (Gina, Joe, mom & I are the only family he has now) have come to realize that he has no money put aside for funeral arrangements nor anything to help the cost of Hospice (which he desperately needs now) We are doing what we can to get him signed up for wherever he can get help....but time is of the essence. We don't think he has much time left here with us and our goal is to make him as comfortable as possible while he is still with us and hopefully allow him to have some piece of mind knowing that he will be laid to rest just the way he has envisioned it when he leaves to meet his mom and brother on the other side.
We just want him to have a little "peace".
