Help for the Martinez family

Vincent and Carmelle are going through a tough time right now learning to navigate the diagnosis of their oldest son, Tristan of Stage 4 Hodgkin Lymphoma. If you can help them in any way by donating even a little bit to help with the medical bills that are bound to build up and other expenses in their lives, please consider doing so. This past Monday, 1/30, our lives changed drastically. Tristan, our oldest who is in 8th grade, had a doctors appointment for lactose intolerance symptoms. During check in his heart rate was extremely high and we were told that we needed to rush to the ER. We got to the hospital and they ran some tests and found a mass in his chest and that his spleen was enlarged. They did a biopsy and diagnosed him with Hodgkin Lymphoma. He has a PET scan scheduled for tomorrow to find out which stage it’s at but they believe it’s at either Stage 3 or 4. While this seems like discouraging news our amazing doctors here at Children’s Medical Center have assured us that the recovery rate for this type of cancer is higher in kids than in adults. There is a treatment plan in place that starts with Tristan beginning chemotherapy today. We feel good about the treatment plan and the news that Tristan gets to go home this Sunday and continue his treatment plan throughout the next 5-6 months. Please keep Tristan and our family in your thoughts and prayers. This has been a difficult time for all of us so any and all prayers are welcome and very much appreciated.
