Help Sadie pay for a PTSD Psychiatric Service Dog

Hi, I'm Sadie's mom, Heidi.

Sadie, Paul (her dad), and I are doing everything we can to secure finances for a professionally trained PTSD Psychiatric service dog for Sadie. We had a large portion of the money until an unexpected financial situation occurred, and now we urgently need to raise almost 100% of the money through fundraising.

PTSD dogs are often associated with war veterans, and rightfully so. Much of the information about PTSD centers on veterans. However, there are other situations, such as sexual assault victims, in which diagnosed PTSD requires specialized care.

Sadie is a survivor of sexual assault. Since her miraculous return to us on January 3, 2021 we have witnessed her literally fight for her life. She has a supportive family and an amazing team of mental health professionals helping her. She is hopeful to expand her horizons, go to college and move on to independence in life as a young adult. Her care team agrees that a PTSD / Psychiatric service dog is her best option as she takes these next steps.

We are building a website, Dogs for SA Survivors, to provide information and resources to others. Also, after securing Sadie's dog Marika we plan to start a foundation to offer financial assistance to others. We know Sadie is not alone, and we believe hope has 4 paws .
