Empowering Children in India

I am a high school student who wants to change the lives of people outside of my own community. For a school IB personal project, where students could choose any topic they wanted, I chose to plan and fundraise for my service trip to India. My goal is to travel to Hyderabad, India with a company called CIEE. I plan on educating young girls on sexual health, puberty, and hygiene in order to break the chain of underprivileged, uneducated girls in India, where women are treated very poorly and are viewed much differently than in the United States. I will spend three weeks in Hyderabad next summer, 2020, where I will work to educate, inspire, and volunteer to improve the lives of girls in need! I wanted to think big: bigger than me, my town, and my community, I wanted to help as many people as I possibly could. I am inspired to make a difference outside of my small, privileged community. I want to help people who truly need education and inspiration. While in India, I will complete a training, after which I will be able to help educate the girls on topics such as: puberty and sexual health. I will also wash and prepare lunches and help the girls with their English conversation practice. I cannot wait to make a difference, but I need your help! The travel expenses are not cheap and I cannot raise all of the money without support, so I ask you to please help me to raise as much money as possible so that I can go on this trip and make a difference!
