A Chance for Max
Donation protected
We adopted 3 1/2 year old Max in October, knowing little about his history other than he was taken away from his two previous homes because he was in such bad conditions. His anxiety is through the roof and he is aggressive toward people. We are trying medication but the best chance he has to be a socialable dog is a vet behaviorist, which is going to be expensive. We cannot afford one on our own. If medication is not enough, we will have to put him down as per the recommendation of a trainer.
There is no guarantee that he will get better but we want to give him as much time as we can. He shut down at the kennel but when he met my female dog, he instantly fell in love. He trusts me wholly and is gentle with his cat sisters. He even helped me catch a mouse by groaned and whining when he found it, leaving it unharmed!
No dog should be tortured and then put down because he does not know that humans can be decent creatures. We want to give him a few great years so at least he has known love half of his life.
