IN MEMORY OF MY DAD
As some of you may know, last year my dad, who was an incredibly talented musician, died as a result of Alzheimer’s. It’s an awful disease for many reasons both for the sufferer but moreso for those around them who have to deal with the difficulties of the disease and who are forgotten by the person with the disease. There were many difficult days and it was a tough time for the family but especially for my mum.
However, I would like to try and do something to make a difference. Im not a runner by any stretch of the imagination and have not ever run anywhere near a half marathon. I would like to do this though to try and get some donations to try and find a cure or an effective treatment for this awful disease.
Any donation you can give would be fantastic. I will of course do my best and the training plan starts in earnest on the 1st Feb 2025. This includes a diet change and fitness training and the purchase of some trainers. I’m a complete novice so go easy on me. There’s a bit about Alzheimer’s below
Want to join me in making a difference? I'm raising money to benefit Alzheimer's Society, and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to me.
More information about Alzheimer's Society: At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research. One in three people born in the UK today will develop dementia in their lifetime. We don’t want anyone to face the realities of dementia alone. That’s why your support is vital.
