Help Amanda Pay her Medical Bills

Donation protected
Working in her job as a pediatric Occupational Therapist, Amanda started to have pain in her knee.  As a former scholastic athlete, she is no stranger to knee pain, so she worked for a couple weeks pushing through increasing pain.  Finally the pain and swelling  couldn't be ignored, so she went to an urgent care where a large amount of fluid was removed.  Within a couple days after that, she was in even more pain and experiencing  debilitating muscle spasms as well as tingling in her foot.
At this point she saw an outpatient orthopedic doctor who gave her a brace and a prescription for an MRI.  The next day, Tuesday, February 23, Amanda (who has a very high pain tolerance) was having severe pain, sweats, muscle spasms and was unable to lift her leg.  Fortunately, she went to the ER at her nearby academic medical center and was taken that very night to emergency surgery to drain what we now know was a very infected knee.  She remains in the hospital awaiting the infection to ease enough to place a PICC line so she can go home with IV antibiotics.  Tomorrow, they plan to do another surgery to washout more infection.
Amanda comes from a very modest working-class family who couldn't afford to put her through college, but helped as much as possible.  Passionate about her goal to become an Occupational Therapist, Amanda worked exceptionally hard to earn her OT degree, garnering honors.   During college, she worked full-time along with her full-time studies, but still needed to take out enormous loans to complete her education.   Already trying to pay off crushing student debt, this unexpected medical expense couldn't come at a worse time.
Amanda is a dedicated  OT who serves some of the most underprivileged children in her community. Like so many young people her age, life expenses and student debt have Amanda living paycheck to paycheck.  She has medical insurance, but even so is facing a large hospital bill and then 6 weeks of home IV antibiotics with what we have just learned will be a co-pay of $200 a day!  We are uncertain of the total bills she will face but anticipate medical expenses topping $20,000.
We hope Amanda will be able to go home from the hospital soon, but then she will be facing loss of work income as well as arriving medical bills.   Any amount of assistance will be so deeply appreciated by this young woman who serves so many others.
