Emergency Funds for Family in Need

Hi, I am the friend of a lovely family who just recently and very suddenly lost their husband, father, step-father and provider. 

Difficult as this is, they are also faced with the seemingly unimportant task of meeting expenses until assets can be released.  The normal stuff of life-- food, school tuition, gas, mortgage, bills...the list goes on.  While the financial bind will be resolved in time, these things just won't wait.  Their struggle is real and I know, were the tables turned, that they would be there to help.

I would be grateful if we could ease this burden for them and allow them to grieve without added financial stress.  We always say we want to "help" and this is one way that could.
