Help my family escape death in Gaza
Donation protected
Hello, I am Rasha Omar, a physical therapist with many years of experience.
Before the October 7 war on Gaza, my family and I were full of hope and ambitions. We dreamed of a bright future filled with love, happiness, and fulfilling work. However, the war has shattered our lives. We narrowly escaped death several times and were displaced eight times across different areas of the Gaza Strip, resulting in the loss of all our personal property and important supplies. Our home was severely damaged and is now completely uninhabitable. Our large farm, which provided us with a basic income from crops, was burned, bulldozed, and destroyed. I lost my job due to the war, and my programmer brother cannot return to work due to the lack of internet access and his commitment to helping our family. My sister, who worked in journalism and media, lost her job when her camera and work supplies were destroyed. I suffer from constant shortness of breath and cannot find a doctor to diagnose my condition due to the collapse of the health system in Gaza. My family and I also suffer from severe psychological pressure and diseases like hepatitis due to malnutrition. My elderly parents are particularly vulnerable and cannot tolerate further illnesses.
We have lost access to essential utilities like water and electricity due to the destruction of infrastructure in our region. This has left us with a severe shortage of water and electricity. We have lost our dreams, our future, and everything we hold dear in Gaza. Our greatest ambition now is to live a healthy life away from this devastation and to rebuild our lives. We seek a safe place where we can thrive and create new memories.

Funds raised through this campaign will go directly to:
- Securing safe passage to Egypt via the Rafah land crossing for Sanaa (My Mother) age 65, Mansour (My Dad) age 75, Rasha (me) age 29, Feras (My Brother ) age 23, Mead (My sister ) age 26 — with the current crossing fees this would be approximately $25,000 for 5 adults
- Food and accommodation for my family once we arrive in Egypt - $10,000
- Installing solar energy systems so we can extract water from wells and grow food while we wait for safe passage - $5,000
