Storm Damage

We arrived to school this morning to find some considerable damage to our school after the recent storms and snow.

In Year 3 the roof has fallen in with water gushing everywhere and causing a flood - everything in the classroom is ruined: reading books, children's exercise books, the reading corner, the computer...

In the library we have a leak so the carpet is wet through and in the corridor we have another leak so we have water running down the corridor.

We have had to close the school today so that we can assess the damage and check the building is safe, structurally and electrically, before we can open again to pupils and staff.

We are hoping that Lancashire County Council will help fix and repair but we know that we will have to fund the replacement of reading books etc in the classroom.

It is the end of the financial year and we just don't have the money to do this.
