Help Oni the Kitty Get Well!

Hello! My name is Oni, and I am one of the sweetest kittycats you will ever meet. Unfortunately I was not feeling well a few weeks ago, so my person (that's Mary!) took me to the doctor. By the time I got there I was near death (very scary!) and in severe shock. I was only 10% hydrated and being poisoned by ketones in my blood. They discovered I had diabetes (which, along with elevated potassium, was causing those high ketone levels), which is totally treatable - but also saw a troubling growth on my adrenal gland which they thought was probably contributing as well. I had surgery, which went really well - they even took out some annoying stones in my bladder! - but the next day the doctors realized that my bladder was leaking from the surgery, and they had to do MORE surgery. I am FINALLY home now after almost two weeks at the hospital, mostly spent in the ICU.

I do feel bad about the whole thing, though, because as you know, hospitals and surgery are very expensive. Mary did everything she could to help me, but things just kept snowballing. In addition, the growth they took out turned out to be a carcinoma - they believe they got it all, but that is still a concern. I talked to my friend Heidi (and some other friends, too!) about how I might help raise some money to help pay the doctors who helped me so much, and Heidi thought that making this page would be a good idea. She said that she has LOTS of facebook friends, many of whom love critters, and that she knows Mary's other friends do, too.

I am not very good at math (I am a kitty), but I know that if everyone were to give just a little, we could make quite a bit to help pay my vet bills. Would you consider helping me out? I love my person very much and do not want her to have to worry.
