Help Kevin Heal
A member of our family needs our support. Kevin is a 34 year old husband and father who was recently diagnosed with a 1 in 1,000,000 autoimmune disease that is potentially fatal. Kevin and his family prioritize an intentionally healthy and holistic lifestyle, finding himself suddenly being covered in extremely painful and persistent blisters and lesions was very unexpected and inexplicable. After six months of attempting to get to the bottom of it at home, Kevin sought medical guidance, lab work, multiple expert opinions and now has an explanation for his visible symptoms and systemic inflammation. Due to the rarity of Pemphigus Vulgaris, there are few care providers in the area that have treated this condition but some specialists postulate it is actually a type of blood cancer. Conventional management can improve quality of life but does not address the root cause and entails an array of serious side effects that can also lead to death. Through divine orchestration, Kevin has found an incredible team of functional medicine practitioners as well as natural-minded doctors and, God willing, intends to heal from the inside out.
Kevin needs the gift of rest, so he can heal. Everyone in his life speaks to his genuine selflessness- he goes above and beyond to help friends, works 75+ hours a week to financially support not only his immediate family but his extended family, too, is always willing to go out of his way to do someone a favor, and does all of it with a sincere smile, lots of dad jokes, and a contagiously positive attitude. Before this, he has faced more hardship than most, yet has unwavering faith and gratitude for waking up every day and it shows- he embodies the perspective of life being a privilege to live. Both him and his wife work two jobs and with two young daughters, their schedule leaves him with about 4 hours to sleep at night. Though he would never complain, we know Kevin is currently experiencing constant pain and bleeding that prevents him from moving freely, eating comfortably, and playing with his kids, and yet he is on his feet for 12-16 hour shifts 6 nights a week. Even with the best medical care, for the body to repair, rest is necessary. We see this as an opportunity for Kevin to learn to receive support as freely as he gives it. Our goal is for Kevin to be able to fund his suggested treatment plan and set aside some time off work to get better.
Any amount contributed is deeply appreciated and will go directly toward the cost of his medical care and treatment, allowing him time to attend appointments and permit healing. We will provide an update on the success of his remission for the encouragement of others in his situation. Prayers are invaluable and much needed. Thank you.
