I just spoke with Elizabeth.It was not a hit and run after all. The sheriff informed her that the accident was the result of a drunk driver.

Her husband (Donald) had pulled over to help 2 other people on the side of the road. The drunk driver was going down the wrong side, Donald pulled the other 2 people from their vehicle then stood in front of them to shield them from the other driver. He took the full impact of the crash so that two lives could be saved.
