Rescuing Women from Sex Trafficking
Donation protected
I want to let you know about an opportunity to participate with me in something huge for the kingdom of God! Let me share with you how. You may or may not know that I have gone on several mission trips since I graduated from high school. First I had the amazing opportunity to go with VCHS' Chorale to Poland on a musically based mission. Three summers ago I was able to participate in Grand Canyon University's Global Outreach program and go to Peru for two weeks and work with the Peruvian people in a hands-on fashion. And the summer after that I was able to serve in Costa Rica and combine my passion to serve Jesus and to work with kids at a tutoring center with another team from GCU. Last summer I was extremely fortunate to be able to participate in another missions trip to Fiji through an organization called Students International and work at several schools there. These trips were such blessings in my life and I am so thankful that God allowed me to be a part of them. Because I have felt such a strong connection with the mission field, from April 30-May 31, I am going on a trip this summer to:India!
This trip is going to be entirely different from any other I have been on. We are going to be partnering with a ministry called Harvest and working exclusively with women who have been rescued from the sex trafficking industry. We will be working alongside people who have made it their mission to serve these women and their children. There are a couple of ministry sites where we will be helping these women: 2 sewing centers and 1 jewelry making center. As you can see, there will be a lot of time to get to know these women and to build community. The area where we will be staying is predominately composed of Hindu women, so there will be ample opportunities to share Jesus. I know that the people are hungry to learn about our Lord and Savior!
Not only will my team affect the lives of the young people we meet in India, but also think about how we will be changed. In the years to come, the lessons we learn on this trip will impact us and those we touch for the rest of our lives. We will take our greater understanding of others into the community and hopefully this understanding will reflect our love of Christ.
Do you know anyone else who could donate to our trip, or perhaps a corporate sponsor? Please send them my way! If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at [email redacted].edu
God Bless You Richly!
