Seabolt Family Fight against Cancer
We are the Seabolt family, Nicole, Jeffrey, our son Michael, and one on the way.
This year has been full of joy and sadness; we have faced difficulties we never imagined. On Oct 5, we announced we were pregnant and are expecting in June of 2016.
A few weeks later, on Oct 27th my beautiful wife Nicole was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer. It has been very tough for us, we have been flooded with emotions and feelings that cannot be expressed in words.
Because of the pregnancy we are unable to do any scans to see if the cancer is elsewhere in the body. The cancer has been referred to as a Carcinosaracoma of the breast. This is a rare type of cancer and is almost unheard of in the breast. The aggressive nature of the cancer rushed us to have surgery performed as soon as possible. A mastectomy was performed in the beginning of December and Nicole has been recovering from that initial surgery. This is just one small step in the many years to come. Nicole has been unable to work during this time, and will have difficulty working during chemotherapy while being pregnant.
Finances have become difficult as a result of Nicole missing work. Combined with the expense of childcare, bills are adding up quickly. Any money raised will help us in these difficult times. We also ask that if you have time, donate to your local blood banks, and get registered in the bone marrow registry. The life you save could be a loved one.
We would like to ask for your prayers as we continue on this journey. So far the support around us has been amazing. We want to thank you all for the kind words and gestures.
We will do our best to keep you updated with information during the Chemotherapy and Radiation treatments. If you have any questions please feel free to contact us.
This is our most recent ultrasound of the current bun in the oven.
Once again, Thank you all for everything.
