Leap of love skydive
I'm raising money in aid of Sands (Stillbirth & Neonatal Death Society) and every donation will help. To do this I have decided to do a sky dive on June 27th 2020. I am absolutely petrified of heights so this is huge for me! I am also aware that an ammount of the money raised goes to pay for the sky dive itself, because of this I am paying for the dive seperately myself and every penny raised goes to Sands and the work they do.
On October 23rd 2019 me and Steve found out we were having a baby, once the initial terror had passed we were so excited to be a family. We ticked along patiently waiting and getting ready for our new arrival. We had our 12 week scan in December and everything was perfect, we considered ourselves out the danger zone and it was all excitement from here.
On January 16th we found out we were expecting a little boy.
A week or so later I started to feel a bit funny but after multiple hospital and doctors trips over a few days I was told our baby was fine and we went home.
On January 28th, our boy was 19 weeks exactly, my waters broke. The days that followed were sad and difficult as we came to terms with the fact we'd never get to bring our son home.
At 8:53pm on 31st of January Jack was born, he was no longer with us.
The level of care we recieved was outstanding, the facilties we were in were incredible and funded by SANDS which is why I have decided to do a skydive to raise funds for this amazing organisation.
Sands supports anyone affected by the death of a baby, works in partnership with health professionals to try to ensure that bereaved parents and families receive the best possible care and funds research that could help to reduce the numbers of babies dying and families devastated by this tragedy.
