ROBERT RINCON COLLEGE FUNDING
Donation protected
I'm a hard-working student as I have received my high-school diploma with the class of 2017. I was told by others including family that hard work pays off and I have received a b- as the letter grade for my total grade point average in high-school.
January 16, 2018, was my first day of college in life thanks to those who have donated to my GoFundMe. As of December 2020, I have now completed 51 transferrable college units along with a 3.0 cumulative Grade Point Average. I'm part of my college's honors program in addition to being selected to HonorSociety.org in Washington D.C for my college grades. I only ask for help with school and book costs when needed after all grants and scholarships have been given to me.
I have and will continue to show timely updates of my college journey and grades after each semester I complete to show all of you as donors that the hard-earned money you've donated during my times of need, will be returned with passing grades.
2009-2017 I was also considered a special education student (meaning a student with a disability) as I have suffered from epileptic seizures disorder and seizures affect my memory. Not only did I increase the high school graduation rate, but I have also increased the graduation rate among those of special education students. I still suffer from seizures currently which to help me succeed in college courses, I receive learning accommodations from my college's Disability Learning program.
As we have all heard before "whatever you put into it is what you get out of it." Starting at 7 years old I have been donating my own money to those in need likr homeless people and others. So I feel and think that others would donate to me during my times of need to attend college as your money would take me far in my career and life. Once I become a paid Broadcast Journalist, I have told my friends that the more money I make is the more money I can donate.
I have known my local news station for 9 years and counting starting at 8 years old as I have been emailing and calling them for breaking news, sports, and weather stories and they would sing me happy birthday every year. January 2019, I was offered a tour to the CBS13 news station in West-Sacramento, California as they've followed my Journalism college success on Facebook.
As of December 2020, I was told by my college counselor that I have completed 80% of the requirements for my Associates of Arts degree in Broadcast Journalism and am expected to receive my degree in Spring 2022 since I've attended college less than full-time status. Students with disability accommodations at my college only have to be enrolled in college at least half-time status (6-units) each semester to receive federal aid. I find it helpful when I enroll in less than 12 units since there's not too much work to complete at one time. The most units I've completed successfully with a (C or higher) is 10 units along with a 3.4 GPA in Spring 2020.
For me personally, too much work at one time may lead to stress, which stress can also lead to seizures sometimes. So I learned from others that patience is key to success and found out that when I enroll in college less than full-time, I earn higher grades above average.
Thank you all for donating and reading. I look forward to providing you with timely updates on my college success and informing you of times I need help with college costs after all grants have been given to me and I wasn't able to pay the rest of the costs myself, for example during times like now where I'm currently unemployed during COVID-19. Before asking donors for help, I also ask my family for help too but my mother is single as my father has been deceased since 2009 from a shooting in Fairfield, California.
In conclusion, I love everyone in the world including those who don't donate to me as I believe you are all my siblings through God.
