18 horses perish in barn fire

Donation protected

On Friday, January 31, the unthinkable happened. A horrific flash electrical fire took the lives of 18 beloved horses and countless personal possessions. The sorrow and loss has been devastating and overwhelming. It is all so hard to understand and to fathom such tragedy. The 18 horses were owned by 11 families are now faced with trying to move forward. The Howington family lost their barn and two personal horses. The other 16 horses we all loved and cared for were boarder's and dear friend's beloved animals. Nothing will bring back the precious lives that were lost. We have set up this fund to benefit the 11 owners. All funds will be split equally between the horse owners and a very small portion going towards the barn owner in order to start rebuilding. We hope that this will serve as a small token of our love and the support of the greater community as we work together to try and move forward. Donations of any size are deeply appreciated. If you are not in a position to give, please share our story. Thank you for your words of encouragement and understanding as we process this devastating loss. We could not make it through without you.
