BECAUSE

I am just a regular Canadian heading to Lesvos to assist in the refugee relief there.

My awesome friends, and their friends want to help too, so I am setting up this page for us to make that possible.

I named the group 'Because'...well... because I had to call it something...and in thinking of what to name this page that was the common word that came to mind.

Because we can.
Because they need.
Because we want to.
Because we are able to.
Because it is the right thing to do.
Because in times of crisis, we need to support each other.
Because this is how we are choosing to be in the world in the face of hatred and violence.
Because g*d forbid we were facing the same reality, we would need the same humanity and support given to us.

So there you go.
Because.

Any funds here will be dispersed to worthy groups working on the ground in Lesvos.

I will keep us all informed as to how we allocate these funds together after I arrive and get to know firsthand the people behind non-profits there in Lesvos.
