Minot Pollinator Project
Donation protected
The Minot Pollinator Project is officially kicking off its efforts to plant over 16,000 sq. ft. of pollinator insect habitat across our community. Organized by volunteers who are passionate about promoting biodiversity and reversing declines in monarch butterflies and other pollinating insects, the group is soliciting donations from individuals and businesses to purchase plants and landscaping supplies necessary for 6 separate gardens. They have also partnered with Lowe's Garden Center in Minot and the NDSU Extension Master Gardener to ensure that all plants will be climate specific and meet the requirements to become a certified pollinator garden. Minot State University's Biology Department is hoping to use the project to create new pollinator research opportunities.
